Singers vs Worship Leaders: which one are you?
So last week I posted a link to Bonface Morris' blog discussing singers vs worship leaders.
Did you get a chance to read it? If not, go back and take a look he makes some interesting points.(link below)
Today, I explain how the article relates to the 'Voice in Worship'
ANYONE can sing but not ANYone is/can be a worship leader.
Singers are all about the performance and the adulation. They already think they've got it going on. Worship Singers are about heart, intimacy and relationship and are always learning.
Or as I say: Quality over Quantity
I believe most of the singers I work with are Worship leaders. Why?
Because the fact they have taken time to seek out coaching demonstrates that they understand the impact of the voice in worship and that solid vocals are an important aspect of their singing.
When I say 'solid vocals' I am not talking about the chops, runs and rifts and hitting every note perfectly, but about giving the best they can give to the service of God, improving and developing.
So, which one are you?
Are you a singer or a worship leader? (look at the points below)
