Have you ever been distracted by another singer during worship?
I share a real-life story about good singing gone 'bad' and reveal 3 jaw-dropping lessons I learnt. I've been holding on to this one for a little while now. Waiting for an opportunity to sit down and write it up. I'm sitting in school, waiting for students to turn up (it's assessment week, so it's hit and miss). I got about 20mins but here's my story... The Voice is an amazing piece of body tech!
It has the power to pull you in or push you away. So it will come as no surprise to learn that your voice is influenced by your mind, your body and your emotions. I like to call it the '3 fold instrument'. Discover why? I think as worship leaders there is even more onus on us to put our best voice forward. Not only for us, as the vocalist, but for every listener under the sound of our voice. Why? Because no one wants to hear messed up vocals, especially when trying to concentrate on worshipping.
Let's be honest. Its distracting! So, whenever preparing for sunday service, I really do think we should come prepared to put our best vocals forward. So, how do we do that? By adopting a simple warm up that works for your voice..
